Guest Post: Wine Cocktails for Your Summer Fling Parties

Summer is in full tilt and I have teamed up with Advanced Mixology to present to you six easy to make cocktail recipes on the base of wine and sparkling wine. I hope you enjoy the read as well as the cocktails themselves:

„Wine is best drank alone; it’s what makes it special. Yet some people love to have other flavors on their wine and enjoy it better in cocktails.

It’s also a good way to improve the taste of cheap red wines and a perfect way to enjoy your wines without the need to aerate or decant them. Here we chose some simple wine cocktails to get you started if you are not familiar with them. With just 2-4 ingredients to each, these cocktails would not be so hard to make.“

Wine Cocktail Recipes

1) Raspberry Spritz

This is a good drink if you want some fun without going tipsy too quickly as the club soda lowers the alcohol content in the wine. You’ll surely love the rose-scented, raspberry-flavored spritz. You won’t need anything special here since you only need the wine and a club soda from your pantry or fridge.

  • Raspberry wine
  • Club soda
  • Rose petals
  • 1 Rosebud

  1. Fill a wine glass with ice and rose petals.
  2. Pour in raspberry wine and top with the club soda.
  3. Garnish with a rosebud.

2) New York Sour

This cocktail is one of those fancy riffs from a basic one, this from a whiskey sour. Made fancy with the addition of egg white, blue curacao, and red wine, making it a beautiful lilac. Any whiskey you have is good enough also for this mix.

  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • ½ oz gum syrup
  • ¼ oz blue curacao
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 oz rye whiskey
  • Red wine

  1. Dry shaker the lemon juice, gum syrup, curacao, egg white, and whiskey.
  2. Add ice and shake again.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Top with red wine.
  5. Garnish with a dehydrated lemon.

3) Strawberry Kiss

Give everyone a strawberry kiss the next time you throw a party. This is a lovely cocktail for your summer parties. Strawberry liqueur is easy to make. Just infuse some sliced strawberries in your vodka for at least 48 hours and strain. This liqueur can be stored in airtight bottles and can be used for your cocktails. Any sparkling red wine will do just fine with this cocktail.

  • 30 ml vodka
  • 10 ml strawberry liqueur
  • 25 ml orange juice
  • Sparkling wine
  • Top with a strawberry

  1. Add the vodka, strawberry liqueur, and orange juice into the cocktail shaker.
  2. Add ice and shake well.
  3. Strain into a champagne flute.
  4. Top with sparkling wine.
  5. Garnish with a strawberry.

4) Cherry Kiss

Here’s another sparkling red wine cocktail you will love for any season. It can be a bit complicated but these ingredients are all available on online stores and your local grocery stores.

  • 2 strawberries
  • 20ml lime juice
  • 25 ml strawberry puree
  • 10 ml wildberry syrup
  • 45ml vodka
  • 100ml sparkling red wine

  1. Muddle fresh strawberries in a shaker glass.
  2. Add lime juice, strawberry puree, wildberry syrup, and vodka into the shaker.
  3. Add ice and shake well.
  4. Double strain into a champagne flute.
  5. Top with sparkling wine.
  6. Garnish with a cherry and a mint leaf.

5) White Sangria

Everyone loves sangria because of the fresh fruits in it and the flavor that these fruits infuse into the wine. This is a good cocktail for the coming Thanksgiving or just part of your summer cocktails.

  • 1 green apple
  • 1 red apple
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • ¼ c sugar
  • ¼ c apple liqueur
  • Raspberries
  • 1 bottle white wine

  1. Slice the orange and lemon into thin slices.
  2. Cut the green apple into quarters and slice them thinly.
  3. Dice the red apple.
  4. Put all the fruits into the pitcher.
  5. Add the sugar and apple liqueur.
  6. Pour in a bottle of white wine of choice.
  7. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
  8. Serve in wine glasses and garnish with fresh raspberries.

6) Sweet Red Spritz

Spritzes are usually made with club soda but this one takes it a notch better with ginger beer or ginger ale if you are a fan of either, that could work as well.

  • Sweet red wine
  • Ginger beer
  • Fresh ginger for garnish

  1. Fill a wine glass with ice.
  2. Pour in the sweet red and top with ginger beer.
  3. Garnish with a slice of ginger.

Check our website to be updated with the wines we are offering. This summer we offer Rosé and white wines that you can try for the cocktails listed here. Alone, these summer wines are good on its own but in cocktails, they simply bring out the best in your drinks. Be sure to use fresh or properly preserved ingredients.
